Melissa Caldwell, Editor of Gastonomica: The Journal of Critical Food Studies and Professor of Anthropology at UC Santa Cruz was interviewed in SLICE Ann Arbor, an arts and culture blog that features "slice-of-life" interviews with artists, actors, authors, and academics. Caldwell's feature is a part of a special guest series which introduces readers to creative people from across the country.
In the interview, Caldwell answers questions from the lighter side of life to the more serious, including what she considers the most pressing issues at the forefront of contemporary food discussions, how to push the boundaries of contemporary food scholarship, and what motivates her work.
